Fridays with Jim and Ginger

We had so much fun at the beach we decided to do it again. Friday was both the highest tide and also the lowest tide. The high tide was not as impressive as the other week because we didn't have any storms, so the waves were not as big as before. Still fun but not as good. However, the low tide was amazing. It was a minus 1.8 tide and it seemed like it went on forever.

We started at Sunset Cliffs and went from there to La Jolla. We walked out on the ramp by the children's cove, which is now taken over by the seals. It was fantastic with the waves crashing on the wall behind us and the seals in front of us. We stayed for quite a while and then worked our way up the coast to Carlsbad.

We took a break for brunch. We found a cafe that had great reviews, but our opinion was it was just OK, nothing special. Still after our diets, it tasted wonderful. We took our time and then it was almost low tide so we had to leave since we really came for the low tide.

Our next stop was Carlsbad where we took a long 2 mile walk along the beach. We stayed just out of the water, which required careful attention to the waves. I don't know when the beach was more beautiful. It just went on forever. After our walk in the sand, we were exhaused (at least I was) so we went to Noah's Ark and set up our chairs and took a little nap. Thought I might read, but the book was boring and I couldn't keep my eyes open.

We spent the entire day at the beach. Really a perfect day.

You are looking dang skinny, girl. When do you leave for the big island?
